Women in Leadership: Lessons in Strength, Growth, and Resilience

By: Anita Starks, Get2ten Wellness

March is a time to recognize the impact and influence of women who lead with strength, purpose, and resilience. Throughout my professional journey, I have been truly blessed to be surrounded by remarkable women who poured into my life both personally and professionally. Many served as mentors in business and in faith, teaching me how to navigate both success and failure with grace, confidence, and integrity. No matter the circumstance, they always encouraged me to stand tall and keep moving forward. In honor of Women's History Month, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to those women whose guidance, wisdom, and encouragement helped shape the leader I am today.

Women's History Month gives us a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the leadership lessons that continue to shape communities, organizations, and future generations. Leadership is about growth, service, and helping others reach their highest potential. Women across industries consistently demonstrate that effective leadership is built on courage, compassion, and the willingness to rise above challenges. Their leadership not only transforms workplaces but also strengthens families, communities, and the next generation of leaders.

One of the most powerful lessons women leaders teach us is resilience. Leadership is rarely a straight path. It often requires navigating uncertainty, overcoming obstacles, and remaining focused on purpose even during difficult moments. Women leaders continue to show that perseverance and faith can transform challenges into opportunities for growth.

Equally important is compassion. Strong leaders understand that success is not defined only by achievements, but by the positive impact they have on others. Many women leaders create environments where people feel valued, supported, and inspired to perform at their best.

At Get2ten Consulting, we believe leadership is about helping individuals and organizations move closer to their “10”—their highest level of performance, purpose, and personal fulfillment. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it is also a time to recognize the importance of mentorship, empowerment, and lifting others along the way.

Question for reflection:
How can each of us use our voice, talents, and leadership to help others move closer to their own “10”?
